Celebrated Kenyan artist Willy Paul has issued a strong statement following a challenging experience during the Furaha City Show held last night. Despite an incredible turnout and overwhelming support from fans, the event was marred by significant setbacks that disrupted his performance and raised concerns about the treatment of local artists.

“My entry was delayed by over two hours, critical provisions agreed upon with the organizers were unavailable or insufficient, and my team, including dancers, faced harassment and mishandling by event security,” he revealed.
The artist expressed disappointment at being subjected to “unnecessary force and threats” despite being a paid performer.
He noted that the poor treatment extended to his team, compromising the quality of their performance and raising questions about the professionalism of event organizers.
“This experience highlights the ongoing challenges Kenyan artists face in their own country,” Willy Paul stated.
“Artists are key ambassadors of our culture, and fair treatment is essential for the growth of our industry.”
